Global data centre demand surges

AI and bespoke cloud services central to DataVita's expansion plans
Danny Quinn, Managing Director of DataVita, discusses the reasons behind the company’s record-breaking financial results – a new focus on being Scotland’s leading provider of AI-ready data centres - of supporting cutting-edge workloads with up to 400 kW per rack; the National Cloud, which delivers tailored services for workloads unsuitable for public cloud providers, prioritising data sovereignty, cost transparency, and simplified pricing models, while addressing issues related to cloud repatriation and critical workloads; and plans to reach 500 MW data centre capacity in central Scotland over the next five years.

Further expansion in Finland for Verne
Dominic Ward, CEO at sustainable data centre provider, Verne, discusses the company’s expansion plans in Finland – with the acquisition of a strategic site in Mantsala, to build its fifth Nordic data centre, as well as the acquisition of the land at its existing Helsinki data center campus, securing room for future expansion. Dominic also shares some fascinating insights into the data centre industry more generally – setting AI and sustainability in context with the current geopolitical uncertainties.

What does an AI workload-ready UPS look like?
Louis McGarry, Sales and Marketing Director, Centiel discusses how AI is creating heavy demand for power protection - with projects that require multi megawatts of power for data centres and AI data processing facilities that rely on power protection equipment that can be scaled-up and rapidly deployed. Louis explains that, while efficiency and sustainability in UPS systems is now a given, customer choice now comes down to quality and also how big and how quickly can UPS systems be scaled and deployed. Centiel will be demonstrating an AI workload-ready UPS at the forthcoming DCW event in London.
